Adam Birkett

As esteemed leader and Managing Director, Adam Birkett is the vision and drive behind UTC Events and is responsible for creating and performing in the hugely popular and successful Under the Covers Function Band and Afternoon Delight Barbershop Quartet, which has bought him and the company worldwide acclaim.
Growing the business from scratch back in 2007, he has been solely responsible for the overall strategy of the company. The quality of the entertainment he produces resonates through the hugely impressive roster of acts – both in-house and external – currently performing on UTC Events’ books. An ever-expanding performance schedule and a thriving business (not to mention being a consummate family man) keeps Adam’s diary full. However, one only needs to attend a function where a UTC Events act are performing to catch a glimpse of his vision in action.

James Langton

James holds the role of Operations Director at UTC Events, and is primarily tasked with the overall delivery of both Under the Covers Function Band, and UTC Technical Solutions. He was the first member of the management team to join Adam in 2013, and in that time, has thrown his limitless energy and enthusiasm behind the company’s ethos and will to succeed. Hugely passionate about his work, you’re most likely to find James on site, ensuring that his clients are happy and that all bands look and sound nothing short of perfect. His willingness to go the extra mile is crucial to his success, and has been vital in UTC Events becoming so well known for its exemplary levels of customer service.

Chris Hyde

Chris joined UTC Events in early 2017 bringing a wealth of international sales and marketing experience garnered from time spent living in North America. Predominantly handling all enquiries for Under the Covers Function Band he is the only member of the UTC Events team to have come from something other than a performance and musical background. His expertise alongside years of training and practise as a salesman in a mixture of businesses, ranging from giant corporations such as BoschTM to gaming company Board Walk Gaming, is now being lent to UTC Events and already making an indelible mark on the day to day running of the company. Feel welcome to pick up the phone and chat to him anytime about aspirations for your big day or special event.

Sam Langton

Sam is head of audio and visual at UTC Events, managing the day to day running and upkeep of all their high-end equipment, as well as dealing with event logistics and delivery. He is no stranger to the events industry, having spent many years as an engineer and event manager, organising and implementing operational strategies to provide clients with the finest audio solutions. Prior to arriving at UTC Events, Sam spent four years studying for a degree in studio and live music production at the School of Sound Recording in Manchester, knowledge he now brings to his role, along with a boundless energy, keen ear, and pleasure in the finer details of delivery both on and off site.

Joey Dexter

Joey has spent many years as a performer and is an alumnus of The Royal Northern College of Music. He comes to UTC Events with an intimate understanding of the music industry, which has made him a perfect fit to manage the external arm of their ever-growing boutique production house, recruiting and working with UTC’s exclusive array of acts, hand-picked to produce one of the highest quality entertainment rosters in the country. Joey has been employed as a singer by Under the Covers Function Band since 2012 and believes deeply in their entertainment delivery mantra, which he has now adopted in the expansion of the company and it’s inclusion of their new acts.

Naomi Lambert

Naomi joined UTC Events in 2015 and is the firm’s administrator and office manager. As with most of the UTC team, she comes from a background of live performance, and spent many of her formative years on stage, culminating in a Performing Arts degree from Northumbria University and various professional acting engagements. Naomi’s primary role is to provide clerical and administrative support to the Sales, Accounts and Operational staff and brings a very organised, neat and ordered approach to her work; a perfect foil to the creative craziness produced by the rest of the team.
